White :: Chardonnay Vintage Bottle Split
206 Chehalem, Ian’s Reserve Chardonnay
Willamette Valley
2004   $34
Flavors are white but rich and oily, with chartreuse and tropical yellow threads; wood and alcohol are barely present in impact; and aromas are seductively fresh and floral. Great balance and velour finish.
Annually called "one of the finest Oregon Chardonnays I have tasted to-date" by Wind Advocate
207 King Estate, Chardonnay
Willamette Valley
2006 $25
This brilliant, light golden straw Chardonnay displays complex aromas of lemon and lime, toast, butter and honey with hints of fig, vanilla, and nutmeg. The wine is rich, creamy, and viscous in the mouth with luscious citrus and tropical fruit flavors accented by vanilla, butter, and well integrated sweet oak.
215 Cristom, Chardonnay ‘Germaine’ Vineyard
Willamette Valley
2006 $43
This Chardonnay is light gold in color, and has a slightly floral aroma along with white peaches, quince, pears and a bit of vanilla. The rich flavors of ripe fruit are a good counterpoint to a hint of buttered toast. This mid-weight wine has a creamy texture, while the bright acidity keeps the wine from being cloying. Although probably not a wine for long-term aging, this wine could still benefit from a few years of cellaring.
